At the proposal of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton today passed conclusions on approving funds for co-financing projects of construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction of memorials dedicated to martyrs, fallen fighters and symbols of the defense and liberation war.
The Government has approved funds to the City of Zenica in the amount of 49,946.77 KM for the co-financing of the realization of the construction project of the “Alija Izetbegović” Memorial – Javorje, Phase II. This phase of the project includes work on the exterior of the memorial complex, including paving, installation of protective fencing and landscaping.
Also, funds in the amount of 140,000 KM were approved for the City of Visoko to co-finance the rehabilitation project of the central memorial to martyrs and fallen fighters, which will reconstruct the damaged elements and restore the monument to its original design state.
As part of the same program, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton also supported the rehabilitation and reconstruction project of the central memorial in the Maglaj municipality in the amount of 80,000 KM, with the aim of preserving the dignity of the culture of memory and permanently marking the sacrifice of the defenders.
The Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs ZDK continuously provides support to projects aimed at preserving historical truth, the culture of memory and permanent respect for martyrs and fallen soldiers, considering it a permanent moral obligation to future generations.
