Bayern players secured the 35th title of the German champion after beating Stuttgart 4-2 in the match of the 30th round.
After Borussia Dortmund lost to Hoffenheim 1-2 on Saturday, the Bavarians needed at least a point to mathematically secure a new title. But, Bayern won 4-2 and the celebration at the Allianz Arena can begin.
With four rounds to go, Bayern leads the standings with 79 points, 15 more than Borussia Dortmund.
Compared to the squad that started the trial against Real Madrid in the Champions League, only three players “survived” Josip Stanišić, Joshua Kimmich and Luis Diaz. The others were rested by Vincent Kompany. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer also got a break, and 22-year-old Jonas Urbig got a chance in goal. From the murderous attacking quartet of Diaz – Gnabry – Olise – Kane, only Diaz got a place in the team, along with Jamal Musiala, Raphael Guerreiro and Nicolas Jackson.
It started badly for the hosts. Chris Fuhrich gave Stuttgart the lead in the 21st minute.
But the response was violent. Between the 32nd and 37th minutes, Bayern turned the score around with three goals, the scorers being Raphael Guerreiro (32), Nicolas Jackson (33) and Alphonso Davies (37). Harry Kane solved the question of the winner by scoring in the 52nd minute for 4-1. It was already his 51st goal this season in the shirt of the German giant. The final 4-2 was made by Chema Andres in the 88th minute.
Stanišić played for Bayern until the 85th minute.
