The government also defended the position that Spain is a “key member of NATO” that fulfills its obligations and “significantly contributes” to the defense of European territory.
“We are also the exporting power of the EU and a reliable trading partner for 195 countries of the world, including the USA, with which we maintain a historic and mutually beneficial trade relationship,” they said.
Despite everything, Madrid indicated that Spain has the necessary resources to mitigate possible shocks, help sectors that could be affected and diversify supply chains.
In any case, the will of the government “is and always will be to advocate for free trade and economic cooperation between countries”, all with “mutual respect” and “respect for international law”.
