The basketball players of Sloboda Energoinvest from Tuzla won in the 21st round of the MaxBet League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, defeating the Basketball team in Živinice last night with a score of 80:78.
In the dramatic ending, the home team had the last attack to equalize or win, but Malik Lamont’s attempt was stopped by Savo Milanović with a block under the basket, which confirmed the victory of Tuzla.
The home team opened the match much more motivated and through Lazar Đurović reached a double-digit advantage for the first time (26:14), and Lamont achieved the biggest difference with a goal for 39:21. Sloboda then consolidated and reduced the score to 39:30 with a 9:0 run. Nevertheless, Basket went to the break with a 51:42 advantage, and Sani Champara scored a triple with the sound of the siren.
In the continuation of the match, Tuzla gradually melted away the deficit and through Milanović reached the tie (64:64), after which the same player gave Sloboda the first lead (66:64). Marko Rikalo then hit three free throws for the home team’s new lead (67:66).
In the end, Sloboda gained a lead of seven points (74:67), but the home team returned to the match thanks to two consecutive three-pointers by Đurović to equalize (76:76).
Jasmin Jakupović gave the guests the victory with a three-pointer for 79:76. Lamont then hit both free throws for 78:79, and after a foul on Adi Zahiragić, which was half accurate, Sloboda took the lead 80:78. In the last attack, Basket failed to win overtime or victory, because Lamont’s penetration was blocked by Milanović.
The most effective in the ranks of Sloboda Energoinvest was Čapara with 18 points, Vladimir Tomašević added 17, and Zahiragić 11 points. For Basket, Lamont stood out with 23, Marko Ricalo with 17 and Đurović with 16 points.
