The Executive Board of the Football Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision to expand the WWin First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to 16 clubs from the 2026/2027 season, with a precisely defined model of recruitment and relegation that will affect the entire football structure in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The decision was adopted at the 11th and 12th session of the Executive Board, thus changing the previous format of the competition with 14 clubs. expands for two additional participants already from the next season.
The Football Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina clarified how it will be implemented new competition structureincluding the number of clubs relegated from the league, as well as the entry of new clubs from lower ranks.
WWin the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2026/2027 season. will directly fill four champions of the Second League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – group North, Center, West and South – without additional qualifications, provided that they meet all the criteria prescribed by the Propositions of the competition, the Rulebook on club licensing and the decisions of the Executive Board.
At the end of the current season, the league will leave as many clubs as necessary to ensure space for clubs that are relegated from the WWIN League of BiH, as well as for champions of other leagues, with the aim of WWIN First League of the Federation of BiH in the 2026/2027 season. has a total of 16 clubs.
In the event that one of the champions of the Second League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina does not receive a license to play in a higher tier, the status of the first league will be retained by the next best-placed club from the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which did not win the remaining result, but has the necessary license for the 2026/2027 season.
Exceptionally, a place in the league can also go to the next best-placed club of the Second League of the Federation of BiH that has a license, but exclusively from the group from which a club of the First League of the Federation of BiH that did not receive a license comes from, if space is opened to fill the league in this way.
