NATO will set new ambitious goals in the Member States in the Member States in terms of defense and deterrence, said the Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte.

“We need more resources, strength and ability to be ready to face all threats and fully implement our collective defense plans and it is clear that we will need to significantly increase the defense costs,” Rutte said.
He pointed out that he expects that the majority of Members, if not all, reach the first goal of allocating two percent of the Defense GDP.
He added that he would need to go beyond that, further increase the defenses.
“We have to go further and we must go faster, we will therefore discuss the urgent needs for our fundamental military needs, including infrastructure and resistance that the new Defense Investment Plan will be the main topic of the NATO summit. And 25. June in The Hague.
NATO members are expected to arrange a new goal on raising the publishing for defense at five percent of GDP, of which 3.5 percent for the defensive needs in the narrower sense and 1.5 percent to the wider security infrastructure.
Increased defense consumption implies greater defense industry production.
