His messages came after the United States and Israel launched Operation Epic Rage, which hit Iran’s missile facilities, naval bases and sites near the office of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian state media confirmed that Khamenei was killed in those attacks.
“If Iran falls, we are next”
According to posts circulating on social media, Dugin warned that Russia could be next if Iran weakens under military pressure.
“If real patriotic reforms do not start in Russia now, the situation will become completely unpredictable. Our allies are being systematically destroyed one by one. It is clear who is next and it is clear what negotiations with such an enemy mean,” he said.
He also criticized, as he says, the illusory impression of normality in Russia. “I believe that the strategy of creating the image that everything is fine in Russia and that peaceful life continues as usual has been exhausted. We are next,” he said.
In a direct reference to Iran’s military resilience, he added: “Globally, it all depends on how long the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards) can hold out. If Iran holds out, everything can go in the opposite direction. If it collapses, we’re next.”
Escalation without a formal declaration of war
US Central Command announced that the goal of the operation was to remove immediate threats to US forces and allies in the region.
Although Dugin describes current events as the beginning of a global war, no country has declared a world war. His statements reflect a hard line according to which the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East are part of a wider geopolitical confrontation between the West and its adversaries.
