Prime Minister Nezir Pivic addressed the participants in the International Scientific Conference “Achievements, Challenges and Perspectives in terms of the health of school children”, who gathered domestic and foreign experts from the health and educational sector.
– It is very important to point out that children, schools and health institutions are connected here, and all through the activities of the academic community. It is a approach that can give a quality response and only such an approach can occur with quality solutions.
The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton recognizes the importance of all prevention programs and proposals coming from the Institute for Health and Food Safety. This is one of the few institutions that really operates quality, integrating science and education, which builds an efficient preventative mechanism.
In addition to the Institute’s leadership, I also thank all employees who contribute to the realization of these projects with their quality work – said Prime Minister Pivić.
The host of the conference is the Institute of Health and Food Zenica, and representatives of civil society, non-governmental sectors and relevant institutions, with the aim of finding common and sustainable solutions in the promotion of health and young people.
Conference patrons are the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports ZDK, Ministry of Health ZDK, Department of Health Insurance ZDK and the Federal Ministry of Education and Science. Experts from all over BiH, Croatia, Serbia, Spain, Malta, France, as well as representatives of UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) are participating in the conference.
Prime Minister Pivic said that the Institute has the full support of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and that it is in the focus of this government, as to the construction of the new cantonal hospital and oncology department, whose realization is slowly due to blocks from the city of Zenica.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mušija pointed out the importance of creating healthy habits from the earliest age through scientific and integrative approach.
The Minister of Health Aida Salčinović said that the health of our children and young people is the most important topic for society.
– Just through the health of our children we look at the future of society. Our responsibility is to ensure that children secure, an incentive and healthy environment for growth and development, and this can only achieve that if the health sector, education and wider communities act united, strategically and responsibly – said Minister Salčinović.
