On this occasion, a meeting of representatives of the City Administration with the organizers was organized today. When it comes to competition, students from the first to fifth grade will compete in athletics and the game “between two fires”, while elementary school students from the sixth to ninth grade will compete in indoor football and basketball.
The winners of the competition in Prijedor travel to the grand finale in Sarajevo. The best from the final competition will represent their cities at the interstate final in Split.
Aleksandar Milješić, head of the Department for Sports, Culture, International Cooperation, Sports and NGOs, said that this is one of the most beautiful sports projects intended for children.
“The city is a friend of young people and we implement many projects that encourage young people to play sports,” said Milješić.
“Plasma sports games for young people” have been gathering a large number of children from the region for years. Just last year, the Games visited 50 cities and municipalities, gathered 71,243 participants, while the opening ceremony was held in Banja Luka, and the grand finale was held in Sarajevo, where 920 children from four countries participated.
The project “Plasma Sports Youth Games” has wide institutional and international support. The sponsors of the Games are, among others, the President of the Republic of Srpska, the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of the Republic of Serbia, the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Games are also supported by numerous famous figures from the world of sports, including Aleksander Čeferin, Nasser Al-Kelajfi, Željko Obradović, Luis Figo, Predrag Mijatović, Jose Mourinho, Edin Džeko, Luka Modrić, Dario Srna, Slaven Bilić, Miralem Pjanić, Džanan Musa, Nemanja Matić, Nemanja Vidić, Šime Vrsaljko, Aleksandar Kolarov and numerous other athletes and sports workers.
