The mayor of Širokobrije, Ivo Pavković, received the brothers Ivan and Anđel Kvesić and congratulated them on their exceptional sporting success in 2025.
Mayor Pavković organized a reception in the city administration for prominent Croatian karatekabrothers Ivan and Anđel Kvesićon the occasion of their exceptional sports results achieved during 2025 on the largest European and world competitions.
On that occasion, the mayor of Širokobrije sent the Kvesić brothers sincere congratulations on the achieved successes, pointing out how they are with their results worthily represented Croatia and their Široki Brijeg on the international sports scene and became a role model for young athletes.
In the year 2025 Ivan Kvesic he won a gold medal at the European Championship in the category up to 84 kilograms, a silver medal at the World Games and a bronze medal at the World Championship. His brother Angelo Kvesic won a silver medal at the European Championship in the category above 84 kilograms, as well as a silver medal at the World Games, with which they wrote together valuable pages of Širokobrije and Croatian karate sports.
Mayor Pavković emphasized that these successes confirm many years of dedicated work, discipline and sporting spirit of the Kvesić brothersthanking them for promoting sports, the name of their city and positive values which they pass on to young people.
At the end of the meeting, the mayor wished them good health, sporting happiness and new medals in 2026, with the belief that they will continue with the same enthusiasm continue to string successes on domestic and international tatami mats, it was announced from the city administration of Široki Brijeg.
