This festival will be held from 20. to 24. Augusta in six Bosnian cities and Mostar, Stolac, Ilidža, Visoko, Kraljevje Sutjeska and Travnik.
This year, 162 authors from 19 countries in the world, and the international three-member commission from BiH, Croatia and Kosovo, selected 135 authors whose works are included in the collection of “Book of Book.”
Of that number, 90 writers, from high school students, which only starts their literary road, to the author with many years of experience and rich opus.
The President of the Association “Woman with the Book” He pointed out in a talk for a haiffle how this is a very important event, both for cities in which it is held and all authors and participants.
– The feedback we receive from participants is that immediately after the festival can’t wait next. The first International Literary Festival ‘Woman with Book’ held in 2023. And at that time, it showed that there is a strong need for the gathering and affirmation of the writings from the region, when 56 author applied. The second edition, held in 2024. year, 162 were gathered, 162 and further fortified the idea of literature as a bridge among generations and cultures – said Mahić.
During the previous two festivals, significant international cooperation were realized, new joint projects and opened doors received their work precisely through this festival, and the third festival, as Mahić says even more, includes a number of cities, author and accompanying programs.
She added that Mostar was not accidentally chosen by one of the central places of the festival.
– It is a city of artists, but also bridges, just as our festival becomes a bridge among writers, cities, countries, people and artists. Through literature we are associated, we open space for understanding and nurture what connects us, but and discover the differences that enrich us, and that is the goal and purpose of this festival, connecting, socializing, assembling new friendships, projects and the like. We want this festival to be a safe space for exchanging experiences, ideas and emotions, regardless of the year, language or literary expression – said Mahić.
At the opening of the Author’s Festivals, in addition to participating, the Authorities from Turkey, Croatia, Serbia and BiH was also held the promotion of a “Book of Book” with the “Bjelopolje Dropljica” and the Dance Point “Mostars”.
The closing of the festival is envisaged on Sunday, 24. Augusta, in the area of Yunus Emre in Mostar, with a rich cultural and artistic program, and this event will be preceded by the Neretva from the old bridge in the reminder of the violence or victims of violence.
