The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, said that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues with measures that have a clear goal, namely the protection of workers’ standards and a more stable and fair economic environment.
As he said, the support of the Economic and Social Council for the Regulation on the payment of tax-free assistance to workers is a confirmation that these reforms have the support of both unions and employers.
“In the first half of 2026, employers will be able to pay up to 300 KM per month in non-taxable assistance to workers. This means higher incomes for employees, without additional burden on the economy,” said Nikšić.
As he points out, the government is consciously giving up part of the budget revenues so that the money ends up directly with the workers and relieves the business.
“It is important to emphasize: this aid cannot and must not be an excuse for reducing existing salaries. We continue to lead a responsible policy based on social dialogue, because only with joint solutions can we build a safer and better future for the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the federal prime minister.
As a reminder, employers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to pay tax-free compensation to workers in the amount of up to 300 KM per month for the months from January to June 2026.
Payment of assistance to employees can be made monthly for the month to which the assistance relates (only after the end of that month) in the period from the first day of the following calendar month, and no later than the last day of the following calendar month.
The employer is obliged, by the 7th of the month for the previous month in which the aid was paid, to submit the Report on the payment of the aid to the competent Tax Office. Klix.
