One person was killed and 15 injured in a commuter train crash in Catalonia after a retaining wall collapsed onto the tracks, regional authorities in Spain said.
Catalan emergency services announced that of the 15 injured, three were in serious condition. 11 ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident.
The commuter train derailed near the town of Gelida, which is about a 35-minute drive from Barcelona.
The Spanish railway infrastructure manager ADIF announced that the retaining wall most likely collapsed due to the heavy rains that have affected the northeastern part of the country these days, reports Hina.
The accident occurred in the northeast of the country, just two days after a deadly train collision in southern Spain that killed at least 42 people and injured dozens.
