The National Olympic Taekwondo Championship, which gathered more than 600 competitors from 42 clubs across Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened today.
As part of this sports event, the first round of the League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also held, which further confirms the importance and scope of the competition.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of numerous officials and prominent representatives of sports and public life.
Samir Šarić, president of the committee for Olympic taekwondo and member of the presidency, addressed the audience. Loannis Mouroutsos, sports director of the European Taekwondo Union (ETU), also spoke.
The championship was officially opened by Jelena Pekić, deputy chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton Danijela Kristić, member of the presidency of TKDS BiH August Orlović, Vice President TKDS FBiH Branko Stanić, Brigadier of the Armed Forces of BiH Kemal Suljević, as well as selector of the BiH national team in Olympic taekwondo Haris Husić.
A special honor was the presence of Loannis Mouroutsos, who was ceremoniously presented with the official coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team with his name on it, as a sign of gratitude and respect, announced the press service of the TKDS FBiH.
