At the Magenta event in Munich, Müller explained in detail why he favors Spain.
“They are always the same in the circle of favorites. If I had to choose one team, I would say Spain. As a team, they always manage to organize their individual talents into a very fluid and harmonious whole,” said Müller and added: “They have the same game plan. You can see that everything fits perfectly with them.”
In addition to Spain, Muller highlighted France as well, describing them as a team with “a huge range of talent”.
“They could easily put together three World Cup squads that we’d say ‘Wow!’” he remarked. He added three more national teams to his list of candidates for the title: “Portugal, Argentina, Germany. I want to include us on that list.”
It is interesting that Muller does not see Brazil among the main favorites for the world title, although many are of the opinion that Carioca, led by Carlo Ancelotti, will be among the main candidates.
Thomas Muller played 131 games for the German national team, scoring 45 goals with 41 assists. He made his last appearance for Elf in 2024 in the quarter-final defeat at the European Championship, precisely against Spain.
