Data from the Agency for Labor and Employment of Bosnia and Herzegovina show that in BiH at the end of November 2025, 314,870 unemployed persons were registered in the records of employment institutes and services, which represents a slight decrease compared to the previous month.
Compared to October last year, the number of unemployed is lower by 608 persons or 0.19 percent.
Of the total number of unemployed in November 2025, 253,600 of them are registered in the Federation of BiH, 49,540 in the Republika Srpska and 11,631 in the Brčko District.
Of the total number of people seeking employment, 187,863 or 59.66 percent are women.
“Looking at the qualification structure, the share of unemployed women is lower among the highly qualified (VKV) – 28 percent, compared to the share of unemployed men in the total number of unemployed persons. With the other qualifications, there are more unemployed women than men, except among qualified (KV) workers, where the share is equal and amounts to 50 percent”, stated the Agency for Labor and Employment of BiH.
Of the total number of registered unemployed persons in November 2025, there were 10,334 newly registered persons looking for work, of which 5,370 were women.
The number of persons deleted from the records of employment institutes and services is 11,000. The number of women deleted from the register is 5,733. Of the total number deleted from the records of institutes and employment services, 6,508 or 59.16 percent were employed, of which 3,635 were women or 55.85 percent.
In November 2025, employers reported 2,348 needs for hiring new workers to employment institutes and services in BiH, of which 813 were women, while the registered number of persons whose employment relationship ended in the reporting period was 7,713. The registered number of women whose employment relationship ended in the reporting period was 3,998 or 51.83 percent.
According to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency, in October 2025, the number of employed persons in BiH was 855,280, of which 391,346 were women. Compared to September 2025, the number of employed persons did not change, and the number of employed women increased by 0.1 percent.
In November, 14,773 unemployed people used the cash benefit, which is only 4.69 percent of the total number of registered workers. Almost 193,000 unemployed persons, more than half of whom are women, have received the right to health care, it says Klix.
According to the results of the Labor Force Survey for the third quarter of 2025, the labor force (economically active population) in BiH was 1,441,000 people, while the number of inactive people was 1,432,000. There were 1,280,000 employed and 162,000 unemployed persons in the labor force.
