The Wolves announced on Friday that Garnett will come to the Target Center on April 12 for the first time after an eight-year absence so that fans can greet him during the last game of the league this season, while Garnett’s jersey will be under the roof of the hall during the 2026/27 season.
Earlier this season, the club’s new owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez announced Garnett’s return as an ambassador after a decade of frozen relations because former owner Glen Taylor did not want to retire Garnett’s jersey.

“Kevin Garnett has always represented the heart and intensity of this club. The energy he radiates is unique and his return to the Target Center is something our fans have been waiting for a long time,” announced the new owners.
Garnett played for Minnesota from 1995 to 2007 and scored 19,201 points, 10,718 rebounds, 4,216 assists, 1,315 steals and 1,590 blocks in 970 games played. He is the only player who leads a club in all those categories.
After leaving Minnesota, Garnett won the championship in 2008 with the Boston Celtics, who retired his number 5 jersey in 2022, and he returned to the Wolves in February 2015 to retire in September 2016. As of 2020, Garnett is also a member of the basketball “Hall of Fame”, and he played 15 outings on the “All Star”.
