The International Academy of Sustainable Development “ICOR” in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, as well as interested economic entities, today and tomorrow, 12. and 13. June 2025. The International Conference “Zenica Waste Forum”.
Within the conference, the most important legislative changes and challenges in the waste management sector, including the promotion of the so-called. Circular economies, improvement of the recycling and reuse process, is reduced to landfills, harmonization of European Union, resolving landfilling and hazardous waste management and the potential for job creation. The honor of opening the conference had Adnan Sabani, Minister of Physical Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenic – Doboj Canton.
– I am a pleasure to attend this conference and the privilege of talking about the gathering that brings together experts, decision makers and businessmen and we will discuss key issues in the field of waste management. This problem is one of today’s greatest challenges and is an invaluable importance of the efficient waste management system for the future of our community, especially in the light of Bosnia and Herzegovina to membership in the European Union. I thank the organizers at the initiative and all participants in the active contribution and I believe that we will reach quality and sustainable solutions to the better tomorrow for the better tomorrow. I am definitely proud of concrete measures that in the last two years with the aim of protecting the surroundings are undertaken by the Ministry I also lead to the Government of Zenica – Doboj Canton – said Minister Sabana.
As the numerous moderators have emphasized, waste is one of the biggest environmental problems in the world, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why the European Union seeks to improve waste management systems of all kinds. During the International Conference “Zenica Waste Forum”, two important documents were presented: New Law on Waste Management of the Federation of BiH and the Waste Management Plan of the Federation of BiH.
