Health Minister Zenica-Doboj Canton Aida Salčinović on Thursday 29. May in Neum was one of the signatories of historical Statements about the support of the strengthening of the nursing professiontogether with the Federal and Cantonal Health Ministers in the Federation of BiH. This statement confirmed a joint commitment to the strategic development of nursing, which forms the backbone of quality, secure and available health care.
– Nurses and technicians are not just a pillar of the health system, they are the heart of each contact with the patient. Their commitment, humanity and knowledge deserve not only respect, but also systemic support through better working conditions, continuous education and active involvement in the design of health policies – said Minister Salčinović.
By signing this statement, health ministers have undertaken that: improve the planning and development of health staff, working to keep medical staff, improve working conditions and provide greater involvement of nurses and technicians in the decision-making process.
– The health care system cannot be strong if its most important holders, and these are nurses and technicians, are not empowered, protected and recognized. Today we send a message that they are a priority, not just a resource – said the minister.
This statement represents a significant step towards building a more resistant and fairer health system in the Federation of BiH, in which sisters and technicians are recognized as key community health actors.
