The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, visited the Borsa Mostar Judo Club, one of the most successful sports teams in the country and the region, which has been achieving notable results on the domestic and international scene for years.
During the visit, she spoke with the club’s management, coaches and athletes about the results and challenges they face, the Office of the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
President of the club Franjo Zadro he pointed out that their work is based on systematic work with young athletes, professional support of the coaching staff and continuous investment in the development of children and young people.
He also emphasized the strong educational dimension of the activities of the club that gathers today hundreds of members of various ages and represents an important social platform that promotes discipline, teamwork, mutual respect and personal responsibility.
In recent years, the club won several national titles and medals at European cups, while its members performed for Bosnia and Herzegovina at international competitions, representing their country worthily. Despite the successes, the club has faced challenges when it comes to its own premises damaged by fire, which made it difficult to organize training and competitions.
Minister Bošnjak pointed out that such teams are an example of how sport builds character, encourages excellence and promotes Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international stage. She emphasized the importance of institutional support for sports teams that work with young people and achieve notable results.
She said that the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to support the development of sports, the strengthening of sports associations and clubs, and the creation of conditions in which talent and work can be fully expressed, according to the press release.
