The coach of Željezničar Savo Milošević congratulated the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina on qualifying for the World Cup, stressing that the Sarajevo derby should be a football holiday and an example of sports rivalry.
– Matches like this have a special weight and are often not decided only by the quality of the game. As a player, I have participated in derbies many times and I know that the result does not always reflect the balance of power on the field. Our desire is to give the maximum and try to take advantage of our chances against a quality team from Sarajevo – said Milošević.
Speaking about the playing staff, he stated that Nastić’s performance is uncertain, Erick will not compete due to suspension, while the other players are ready for the game.
The captain of Željezničar Muftić emphasized how much the city derby means to the fans in Sarajevo.
– I have ten matches like this behind me and I know very well what kind of emotion they carry. In derbies, form and standings in the table are often not decisive – what matters is the moment on the field and who will take advantage of the opportunity first. We are ready and fully motivated – said Muftić.
On the other hand, Sarajevo coach Cvitanović also congratulated the success of the BiH national football team, stressing that such results should be an additional inspiration to all athletes.
– I would like tomorrow’s game to be a real sports battle and for football to win in the end. I hope for full stands and a good atmosphere, and I expect great fighting spirit and character on the field. My players are motivated and ready for the challenge – said Cvitanović and added that Sarajevo wants to play bravely at the “Grbavica” stadium and seek victory despite the visiting field.
Sarajevo captain Adem Ljajić pointed out that there are no favorites in derbies.
– We all know what a game like this means. I had the opportunity to play many derbies and experience shows that they are always hard and uncertain matches. I don’t expect too much beauty in the game, but I believe that both teams will give their best. Let the better one win in the end – said Ljajić.
The match of the 27th round of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Željezničar and Sarajevo will be played tomorrow at “Grbavica” starting at 8:45 p.m.
