Legendary Argentinian footballer, 38-year-old Lionel Messi became only the second player in history with 900 career goals by scoring the only goal for Inter Miami in a 1-1 draw against Nashville SC in the second leg of the CONCACAF Cup Round of 16.
Messi put his club ahead in the 7th minute, but Espinoza leveled the score at 1-1 in the 74th minute and Nashville advanced to the quarter-finals on the away goals rule.
Namely, the first match seven days ago ended with a score of 0-0.
Messi reached 900 goals in his senior career over the course of 21 years, scoring his first goal as a 17-year-old playing for Barcelona in 2005.

Messi scored most of his goals precisely for Barcelona, 672 of them, for the Argentina national team he scored 115 times, his performance in the Inter Miami jersey now stands at 81, while he scored 32 goals in the Paris SG jersey.
To reach 900 goals, Messi needed 1142 appearances, almost 100 less than the 41-year-old Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who in September 2024 became the first footballer in history with 900 goals. Ronaldo is still active and currently has 965 goals and intends to play until he reaches 1000.
