The police Canton Valais confirmed that the bodies of five skiers were found yesterday at the massif Rimpfischhorn, near the famous ski resort Zermatt in Switzerland.
The bodies were discovered on the glacier Adler, and the identification of the suffered was still underway, the police were announced.
According to the available information, two alpinists who climbed the top of Rimpfischhorna on Saturday, about 16:30, noticed abandoned skis and alarming emergency services.
Shortly after signing up, the Air Zermatt rescue helicopter flew the area and found the bodies of five people. For now, there is no information on the cause of death, nor about gender and age of the sufferers.
The Office of the Public Prosecutor opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
