Majlis of the Islamic Community of Tešanj received recognition as one of the of the most successful Majlis in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the action of collecting zakat and sadekatul-fitr in 2025. The award was presented at a formal reception in Sarajevo, which they organized Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zakat Office.
He took the recognition for Majlis from Tešanj main imam mr. Fuad-ef. Omerbašićwhich confirmed the continuous and systematic work of the Majlis to strengthen the believers’ awareness of the obligation of zakat, as well as trust in the institutional collection of funds through Baitul-mal.
Within the Mejlis of the Tešanj Islamic Community, special awards were also given to imams hfz. Sakib-ef. Filanfor the most successful collection of zakat and sadekatul-fitr according to the overall results in the congregation, and Ibrahimu-ef. Okanovićfor the most successful collection by percentage in relation to the number of households.
At the formal reception, reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic community in BiH Husein-ef. Kavazovic he emphasized the significant role of imams and majlis in affirming the obligation of zakat, stressing that the institutional collection of funds through Baitul-mal is the foundation of trust and fair distribution.
Director of the Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community, hfz. Ph.D. Mensur-ef. Malkicemphasized that the achieved results testify to the organized work and the strong awareness of believers about the importance of joint action, while the head of the Zakat Office Vehid-ef. Arnaut he especially emphasized the key role of imams in working with congregations in the field.
The recognition of the Majlis of the Tešanj Islamic Community and its imams is a confirmation of dedicated work, responsibility and high level of trust of the congregation in the institutions of the Islamic Community.
