Sunderland took the lead in the 67th minute when Chemsdine Talbi’s shot deflected off Virgil van Dijk and tricked Alisson. Liverpool equalized in the 81st minute after a fantastic breakthrough from Florian Wirtz; the ball bounced off Nordi Mukiele for an own goal.
In the 93rd minute, Sunderland had a chance to win, but Federico Chiesa prevented Isidor’s goal.
