The visit follows Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK in September, an event marked by lavish ceremonies, including a lavish banquet and traditional elements of royal protocol. Such events aim to strengthen relations between countries, especially in challenging times.
Trump is known for his affection for the British royal family, but has had a strained relationship with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who has offered limited support for US policy in the war with Iran.
Charles has visited the US 19 times so far, but this will be his first state visit to the country. His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, made four state visits to the United States of America.
The King will also visit Bermuda, which will be his first visit to the overseas territory as a monarch.
