Ivan Dračar from Imo is the winner of the 29th Polog – Široki Brijeg mini marathon with a time of 30:36. Dračar won first place in this mini-marathon for the eighth time in a row, breaking the race record by eight seconds.
The second one was Ante Pokrajčić with a time of 32 minutes, and the third Ilija Jukić with a time of 32:05.
This year’s mini-marathon was registered 97 runners. The race started at the memorial on the border of Dobrich and Polog, while the finish line was at Širokobriješka žrtava Square. The total length of the section is approx 10 kilometers.
The first place winner also won a cash prize in the amount of 500 KM, the second place winner won 300, while the third place winner received a cash prize of 200 KM.
Special awards were also given for:
- the fastest five Širokobrijejans (school age) – 100.00 KM
- the fastest five from Širokobriježa – 100.00 KM
- the fastest five marathon runners – 100.00 KM
- the fastest five women from Širokobriježana – 100.00 KM
The fastest people were from Shirobriježa Filip Zovko (37:22), Slaven Mustapic (39:50), Mario Tole (40:11), Ivan Matkovic (40:17) i Mario Galic (40:37). The head of the Department of Social Activities, Josip Mikulić, presented special awards and cash prizes to the best Širokobrijejans.
They were the fastest in the school age category Josip Pinjuh (40:04), Bozo Planinic (40:23), Marko Knezović (40:44), Ivan Marić (40:55) i Borna Barbaric (41:04), and the awards were given by the president of the Assembly of the Sports Association, Marko Ćavar.
She won first place among the most successful marathon runners Diana Manjarello with a time of 40:30, she placed second Josipa Baković (45:52), she won the third place Vesna Čavar (47:26), fourth Ivona Petrović (47:54) and she was in fifth place Aneta Pavlićević (49:51). They were awarded by the secretary of the Sports Association, Frano Jelić.
Special awards were presented to the best women from Širokobrije by Marko Slišković, a member of the Board of Directors of the Sports Association. They are rewarded Zora Matkovic (49:02), Antea Naletilić (52:37), Tina Kraljevic (53:28), Klara Mikulić (58:16) and Valerija Galić (59:09).
This sports event is held as part of the “May Memories” program, which commemorates the Day of the Croatian Defenders of Široki Brijeg and the 35th anniversary of the stopping of the JNA tanks. The entire program takes place under the auspices of the event “Brieška Zvona”.
