The Indirect Tax Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to break records. Last year, a record 12 billion and 177 million convertible marks were collected from indirect taxes, which is the largest amount since the establishment of the Administration.
Compared to 2024, revenues are higher by as much as 633 million KM. Thanks to that, an additional 525 million KM was unplanned in the budgets of the two entities and Brčko District in the year behind us. Despite record revenues, the authorities of both entities are planning record debts this year, which together amount to around four and a half billion marks, writes BHRT.
Of the collected 12 billion and 177 million KM, the Indirect Tax Administration returned 2 billion and 202 million KM to the economy last year. The remaining 9 billion and 974 million were distributed to the state, entities and the Brčko District. One billion and 20 million KM was allocated for the financing of state institutions last year, as well as in 2024. 8 billion and 906 million were allocated to the entity and Brčko District budgets, which is 525 million marks more than the year before.
“5 billion and 510 million KM was allocated to the Federation of BiH, 3 billion and 86 million KM to the RS and 310 million KM to the Brčko District. Compared to the year 2024, an additional 325 million KM was allocated to the Federation of BiH, 181 million to the RS, and 19 million KM to the Brčko District”, announced the ITA of BiH.
In the budgets of the entity and the Brčko District last year, additional “non-planned” a little more than half a billion marks ended up. Citizens believe that they did not have any benefits from it. Record revenues last year did not prevent the authorities of both entities from planning new loans this year. On top of the existing debt of 12.5 billion marks, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the RS intend to borrow another 4.5 billion KM in 2026. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina plans a new debt of 2.3 billion, and the RS a little over two billion marks. New loans are used to return those taken out earlier.
