Israeli police arrested 18 people in Tel Aviv and Haifa on Saturday during protests against the war in Iran, according to media reports.
The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reports that 13 people were detained during the demonstration in Habima Square in central Tel Aviv, Anadolia reports.
The police said that the protesters were disturbing the public order and did not follow the instructions of the police officers.
The newspaper states that during the rally there were clashes between the demonstrators and the police, which led to the arrest of several people whom the police described as “rioters”.
Five more people were arrested during a separate protest involving 100 demonstrators at the Horev intersection in the northern city of Haifa, the paper added.
Police said the arrests were made for what they described as public disturbance.
The US and Israel have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since February 28, which have killed more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and the Persian Gulf countries that host US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
