At least 14 residents of New York lost their lives as a result of the powerful snow storm that hit the United States of America, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced.
He stated that a large number of victims died in the open due to freezing.
“We have successfully placed more than 860 people in shelters,” Mamdani said, stressing that city officials are making maximum efforts to protect New Yorkers.
The blizzard raging across the US has affected more than 200 million people, while the death toll has surpassed 100.
Thousands of flights were canceled across the country, and ice on American roads led to an increased number of traffic accidents.
