The US women’s ice hockey team, which won the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina last week, declined an invitation from President Donald Trump to attend his State of the Union address, US media reported.
We are honest grateful for the invitation addressed to our gold medal winning USA Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciated recognition of their outstanding achievementbut due to timing and previously scheduled academic and professional obligations after the Games, female athletes cannot participatelocal media quoted the spokesperson of the national team.

The US women’s hockey team has politely declined an invitation from President Donald Trump to attend his State of the Union address Tuesday.

USA women’s ice hockey team by it is the third time in history won the title of Olympic champions after defeating defending champions Canada 2-1 (0-0, 0-1, 1-0; 1-0) in overtime in the final of the ZOI in Milan on Thursday.
After Sunday’s win over Canada, Trump invited the men’s ice hockey team to his State of the Nation address late Tuesday in Washington.
In a video call with the men’s national team after the final game, Trump congratulated the players and briefly mentioned the women’s team.
I have to tell you: we will have to bring the women’s national team. you know that Trump said, prompting laughter in the locker room.
I believe I will probably be impeachedthe president added jokingly.
