The German public and part of the political establishment reopen the issue of the security of its gold reserves abroad, especially in New York, suspected of the reliability of the US President Donald Trump and his administration.
The German Federation of Taxpayers (BDST) asked Bundesbank and the German Ministry of Finance to return gold from the United States, reports Reuters.
“Trump wants to control the American Central Bank Fed, which means that it can come into a position to affect German gold reserves that are there. It is our money,” Michael Jaeger Vice President Michael Jaeger reports.
The Eurovyner of the Markus Ferber from the ranks of ruling conservative democrats warned that “United States of America is under Trump,” and that Bundesbank must adapt to their policy “new geopolitical realities.”

The Bundesbank preserves almost a third of its gold reserves – a total of 3,352 tons, which is the second largest state pledge in the world – in the Fed Treasury in New York, which dates back to the Cold War period.
