The new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz today debits as a chancellor on the foreign policy stage, to show the EU’s unity in Ukraine’s support and the US President Donald Trump Troup.
The Association of Merz and French President Emanuel Macron could help strengthen EU resistance against Trump pressure and against the current war of Russia in Ukraine.
Traditionally, newly elected German chancellors first visit their large neighbors in the west and east to emphasize European unity. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Baro said Merz and Macron wanting to re-launch what he described as “French-German Engine Europe”.
Baro said that he expects Paris and Berlin relations to be easier with Merz than they were with his predecessor. France is looking for German support for the increase in EU military expenditures due to the threat of European security by Russia and Trump Policy concerns.
Visits Merza Paris and Warsaw are held at 80. Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
Macron’s meeting with the German Chancellor is specially filled with the symbolism for two countries that were bitter enemies in the first and second world war.
