Former US Ambassador: I went because Trump Stiće Ukraine, not Russia

Bridget Brink / Agency

Bridget Brink, former American ambassador in Ukraine, announced that she resigned because she could not agree with the Foreign Policy of the President Donald Trump towards the war in Ukraine.

Brink explained the reasons for Detroit Free Press, saying she could not in good faith conduct a policy of administration, which, according to her words, “to the victim, not the aggressor.”

“I respect the right of the president to determine the foreign policy, with the appropriate control of the Congress,” Brink wrote, so it added: “Unfortunately, from the beginning of the Trump Policy, it was pressure on Ukraine, not Russia.”

Brink, diplomat with almost 30 years of experience, was confirmed as an ambassador in May 2022, three months after the beginning of the Russian total aggression. She deviated from her duty last month.

“I can’t stand aside while a state was attacked, democracy was bombed, and the children were killed unpunished,” he wrote that he believed that he can protect his interests only if he stops with democracies and opposite autocrats.

“Peace at all costs is not peace – it is a relaxation and up to the aggressor,” she concluded.
