Zrinjski sent an official notice to the Association stating that he cannot receive visiting fans at the derby against Sarajevo.
It is a match that has been called one of the derbies in domestic football for years, and the presence of both fan groups has always been an integral part of the atmosphere.
In the letter, Zrinjski refers to internal reasons and assessments, but without specific details that would indicate a serious security threat.
Namely, since in Mostar they expect the arrival of a large number of fans from Vienna for the match Zrinjski – Rapid, this serves as one of the key arguments for justifying this extremely embarrassing situation.
Zrinjski claims that because of this, they will turn to work on the away sector, and that it will take place right before the derby, which further strengthens the doubts. Too symbolic, too convenient and too unconvincing. With such a request, they headed towards the Alliance.
And if NS/FS BiH allows the derby to be played without away fans just because of this, at least shaky, explanation – that would be a travesty. Not only sporting, but also organizational.
Now everything is up to the responsible people in the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The match between Zrinjsko and Sarajevo will be played on Sunday at 17:30.
