Elections for leadership in pensioner associations throughout the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are underway, which will end with the Electoral Assembly of the Federation, which should be held by the end of May.
In the current mandate and the previous one, the president of the Board of Directors was Redžo Mehić from Sarajevo, who can no longer be president, such are the rules of the Statute.
– The new Board of Directors will be elected at the Assembly that will be held at the end of May – Haso Halilović, deputy president of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Associations of Pensioners in FBiH, told Faktor.
We asked if the rule is to elect a candidate from Sarajevo as the president of the Association.
– So far, it has not been ordered that the president be from Sarajevo, but it is an agreement at the level of the Board of Directors. You can only be president for two terms – says Halilović.
Mustafa Trakić, a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Pensioners of FBiH, who is the president of the Association of Pensioners of Zenica-Doboj Canton, tells Faktor that he is ending his work in the pensioners’ association.
– I will not even be a delegate in the Assembly of the Federation of FBiH. My work in the Union of Pensioners ZDK ends with this mandate, on April 20 to be exact. I was not afraid of anyone, I was not ashamed of anyone. I didn’t depend on anyone, I always spoke only the truth, I fought and in that fight I was alone. I said that I don’t want to work with the crooks anymore. I come out of all this with a clean face. The measure was overdone when the torture started through social networks, they started insulting my family, sending the most brutal curses. The price is too high – Trakić told us.
It should be said that Trakić was the initiator of the most vulnerable pensioners in the Zenica-Doboj canton receiving one-time assistance in 2025, which was accepted by ZDK Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, i.e. the ZDK Government.
In December 2025, with November pensions, 34,525 pensioners from the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton received 100 KM each from the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton. It is about beneficiaries of the lowest pensions, which at the time amounted to 599 KM, and those whose proportional pensions are even lower than the lowest pension, it says. Factor.
