At the 19th round of competitions for the new Croatian word and award “Dr. Ivan Sreter” reported the 201 candidate from the proposed 420 new words this year.
Among them is the new suggestion for the word kick – a cuterer.
The word cuterer is suggested as a replacement for the word kick in football, but did not enter among the award-winning words.
By the way, it is a traditional award for a new Croatian word carried out by the magazine “Language”, and morally and materially supports the Foundation “Dr. Ivan Sretera” in memory of Ivan Sretera.
Croats are already using many of their words in sports terminology – football, concierge, hinterland, reserves …
