Deposits of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by more than two billion convertible marks in one year, according to the latest data on monetary trends published by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to these data, total deposits in November 2025 increased by 3.53 billion KM, which represents an annual growth of 10.6 percent. The largest growth was recorded precisely among households, whose deposits increased by 2.03 billion KM, or 11.8 percent.
Citizens keep the most money in transaction accounts, which grew by almost 17 percent. Next are demand deposits, while time deposits also recorded growth, but with still low interest rates.
Growth in savings was also recorded among private companies, government institutions and public companies, but to a much smaller extent than among citizens. The total deposits of domestic sectors at the end of November amounted to 36.79 billion KM, which is about 210 million KM more than the month before.
The Central Bank also states that the money supply in BiH increased to 42.02 billion KM, with a slight monthly growth of 0.5 percent. On an annual level, the money supply is higher by 3.74 billion KM.
Banks have huge amounts of citizens’ money for which they pay minimal or no interest, while at the same time they use that money for loans or invest outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.
