The city of Sarajevo continues to mourn Erdoan Morankić (23) from Brčko, a young artist who lost his life in a tragic traffic accident in the center of the city. His untimely death deeply affected the academic community, friends, but also numerous citizens throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In his honor, students and high school students and other citizens organized a gathering in front of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they gathered to pay their respects and support the family of the victimized young man.
The gathered also carry the slogans “How many modern trams can be bought instead of helicopters?”, “Enough of the suffering of our fellow citizens on the streets”, “We want quality public transport, not helicopters, police transporters and water cannons”.
At one point they blocked the main road.
Erdoğan was a painting student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, where he was considered an extremely talented and dedicated author of the younger generation. During his studies, he presented himself at several solo and collective exhibitions, and his artistic expression was focused on researching the visual interpretation of the secret as a fundamental element of duration and creativity. Professors and colleagues emphasize that he was at the beginning of a promising professional path.
