The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adopted in the second round of voting the Decision on determining the amount of the base for the calculation of salaries in diplomatic and consular missions (DKP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025.
The decision determined the base amount for calculating salaries for employees in 53 existing DKPs and ten more DKPs in the formation phase, based on the database of the United Nations International Civil Service Commission, including, among others, the published UN indices on the cost of living.
The decision enters into force on the day of adoption and is published in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is applied the following month from the day of adoption of the Law on the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the year 2025.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Legislation Office of the BiH Council of Ministers, will prepare this decision for signing and publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković spoke yesterday about the problems of diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“It is shocking that we have now advertised 12 places in Germany, which until now was an oasis of the DKP and which people were looking for en masse, and we only had two applications. This shows the disinterest of our people in leaving for several reasons, and the key is money. Apartments there are expensive for them, and the fees are really small for what they have to pay there and they cannot support themselves with their families when they go there,” said Konaković, reports Bosnia Info.
