The transport sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina faces a number of problems. Among them is a limited stay of professional drivers in the European Union – only 90 within 180 days.

The introduction of a more precise model of monitoring the driver’s stay monitoring in the Schengen zone is proposed using new digital systems (EES and SIS), which enable the accurate recording of the entries and outputs. In this way, the stay would count in hours, not in days.
– We apply a large number of EU directives that concern us, but we cannot take a little from the EU, leave a little. We need to decide whether we are part of the EU or we are not. According to the calculations, we are, because 73 percent of our goods goes into the EU over four border crossings. We need to consider the fact that the transport of a housekeeper is. This change could be saved on ten days, he cited Vice President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH Vjekoslav Vukovic.
The initiative, therefore, presented to the European Commission and the reaction, as Vukovic said, was positive. In this case, as he added, it is a technical act that would only determine how many days, ie they pretend to the hours.
Dragan Marić from the Association of International Road Cargoers of the Load and Saudin Parić from the Association of Carriers in the International and Inter-Entity Transport of the Passengers of VTKBiH, mentioned a series of initiatives and proposals, and all with the aim of resolving the problem in the transport sector. The competent authorities at the state and entity levels in the previous period submitted more than 80 conclusions, initiatives, proposals to resolve their problems.
