Today, January 22, the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Law on VAT, whereby bookmakers and casinos are no longer exempt from paying VAT.
The proposer is Mia Abazović-Karamehić (Our Party).
Of the 35 deputies present, 27 voted for, four against and four abstained.
In the first reading, the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Remunerations in BiH Institutions was adopted, which relate to the increase in salaries for military personnel of the Armed Forces, especially for the category of soldiers and non-commissioned officers who have the lowest coefficient and for police officers of all police agencies at the level of BiH.
The House adopted reports on the financial audit of BiH institutions for the year 2024, the annual audit report on the main findings and recommendations for the year 2024, as well as the report on the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH for the year 2024.
The House of Representatives appointed Alen Halep as the director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight Against Corruption.
The proposal for a decision on the announcement of a public competition for the appointment of a member of the Central Election Commission from among others was also adopted.
The MPs also agreed to the ratification of three international agreements to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is a signatory
The MPs did not discuss the Reform Agenda
Deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not discuss the Reform Agenda today because the chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, did not attend the session.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives, Marinko Čavara, explained that the deputies cannot adopt the Reform Agenda and that the document was only submitted for review, after the conclusions adopted at the earlier sessions of this House.
“This document will be on the agenda of the next session, which will be held on February 12,” said Čavara.
For the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed by MP Nihad Omerović, the legislative procedure was suspended after the second negative opinion of the Constitutional and Legal Commission.
With this legislative proposal, an attack on a returnee would be characterized as a criminal offense.
The procedure for the Proposal for the Law on State Property has been suspended
The legislative procedure for the Draft Law on State Property was suspended due to another negative opinion of the Constitutional Law Commission.
