The senior football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play qualifying matches for the World Cup against Romania and Austria this month. Bosnia and Herzegovina needs two wins from those matches for first place and direct qualification to the World Championship.
Selector Sergej Barbarez said at today’s press conference that he has not changed his opinion about the first opponent – the Romanian national team, which according to him is an excellent, technically sound team with excellent individuals.
It will be a very demanding race. We play at home, we have already shown them once we can win. I believe in the team and the players I invited. Most of our players he normally plays in his clubswhich makes me happy. We will always focus on players who want to play for this national team, Barbarez said.
He hopes that all the players he has invited will be in good health and in good shape. He said that 15 minutes before the start of the press conference, he received bad news that Barišić injured.
We hope that everything will go as we imagined and that this week will pass without any unexpected things and that we will be ready to welcome Romania, but I must say that Barisic will not be ready because he was injured in the game yesterday, Barbarez said and added that Radeljić is not ready physically for this meeting.
He notes that the rest of the players are in good health and should be ready for the upcoming games, and that after training they will decide who they will count on for the match against Romania and who they won’t.
We lack experienced players, but I like the approach in a willing moment, especially with the younger national team players, he said.
Barbarez states that in the past matches there were problems in the midfield of the BiH national team and that some players were disappointed when it came to reviewing the game and communicating with their teammates on the field.
I’m glad that Hadžiahmetović and Šarić are here because both of them are experienced players and can bring us exactly what we need in the middle of the field. he said.
When asked why did not advertise through social media on the issue of the “BH Fanaticos” fan group, which was previously denied tickets for the match against Romania, Barbarez said that he wanted to talk about it at a press conference and not via Instagram, and that the most ardent fans of BiH mean a lot to him.
Sergej Barbarez loves his country, national team and fans, especially the most loyal fans. So shall it be as long as I exist, underlined the menu.
Director of national teams Emir Spahić he said on this topic that the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina secured 600 tickets for BH Fanaticos.
The match between BiH and Romania will be played on Saturday, November 15 at the “Bilino Polje” stadium in Zenica, while the match against Austria is scheduled three days later.
