At 27. Meeting Contact Group for Defense of Ukraine (UDCG) in Brussels, which brings together representatives from about 40 countries including the USA, the Allies have announced significant new investments in Ukraine’s military assistance.
US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth and President of Ukraine Volodimir Greenski Join the meeting, which will jointly lead the German and united kingdom, by the Video Link, the German Minister Boris Pistorius journalists.
A meeting in Ramstein format comes at a crucial time for a coalition that supports Ukraine. The United States signaled reduced engagement on the security of Europe and Ukraine, while European countries seek to strengthen the support of Kiev while facing Russian aggression.
During the meeting, along with Pistorius and Ukrainian Defense Minister, the Unified Kingdom Defense, John Healey reminded that in the previous summit in February, allies promised almost $ 2 billion.
“We’ll promise me more billions today,” Healey told reporters at the beginning of the summit, reports the Kyiv Independent.
The United Kingdom and Norway have already promised an additional 450 million pounds (585 million dollars) military aid, while Germany promised four new IRIS-T systems for contradictory defense, armored vehicles, rockets, grenades and other support.
– Our priority is an illegal defense, and it is very important that our partners hear us – said President Volodimir Green.
