A train derailed on Monday morning in southern Switzerland, police said, adding that people were likely to be injured.
– Train derailment, probably with injured persons – stated the regional police in a post on platform X, adding that the derailment happened at 7:00 a.m. in Goppenstein and that more information will be available a little later.
More details about the incident were not immediately available, police told AFP.
The federal rail operator CFF said on its website that rail traffic was “interrupted between Goppenstein and Brig” due to the avalanche.
