Organizers of the Enhanced Games said on Wednesday that the 2027 competition will offer a $10 million prize to whoever breaks Usain Bolt’s 100m world record.
The organizers of this controversial sports event in which competition athletes using doping adds that the prize will go to the winner of the men’s final at 100 meters if he runs faster than Bolt’s 9.58 secondswhich is the record set by the Jamaican in Berlin in 2009. That was 0.07 seconds faster than the world record set by Australia’s Cameron McEvoy in March, although it will not enter the official record books because Gkolomeev used performance-enhancing drugs banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency and wore a banned swimsuit.
“Improved games” allow athletes who they use substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), while they also allow swimmers to wear polyurethane “super-suits” banned in 2010.
Enhanced has announced that their first event has secured an agreed sponsorship value of more than $32 million and that planning for the 2027 Games is already underway.
The company also said it was looking at smaller events before then, with endurance sports identified as a possible next area of expansion.
