The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton has published a Public Call for suppliers to deliver equipment with installation, within the Air Quality Improvement Project, which is being implemented with the support of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) – the World Bank.
The goal of the Public Call is to form a list of qualified business entities that meet the prescribed technical, energy and procedural requirements for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
The public call includes the following measures, distributed by LOTs:
LOT 1 – delivery and installation of pellet stoves and boilers up to 35 kW, including related equipment and construction works
LOT 2 – delivery and installation of air-to-air heat pumps (split and multisplit systems) up to 20 kW
LOT 3 – delivery and installation of air-water heat pumps up to 20 kW, for heating, cooling and/or preparation of domestic hot water
All offered equipment must meet the minimum energy efficiency requirements, valid European and domestic standards, as well as the conditions stipulated in the Public Call. Suppliers who will be included in the list of qualified entities will be able to participate in the implementation of individual end-user energy efficiency projects, which will be selected through a special public call.
Adnan Šabani, Minister for Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of the ZDK, pointed out that the Zenica-Doboj Canton is the first administrative unit in Bosnia and Herzegovina that systematically fights against growing air pollution.
-Thanks to previously implemented projects and the establishment of the Register of Home Stoves, the ZDK Government and the line ministry secured 8 million euros from the World Bank to combat air pollution, as well as significant financial support for the citizens of all 12 municipalities and cities of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The mentioned measures will be co-financed in the amount of 50 percent. According to the announcements of the World Bank, if the project proves to be successful in the first six months of its implementation, additional funds will be provided, given the great interest of the citizens – Šabani said.
He added that the ZDK Government, led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, has been maximally engaged and fully supports the project from the very beginning, and that during the past year, extremely high-quality cooperation was achieved with representatives of the World Bank in the process of negotiations and finalization of the project.
– This project represents the pride of the entire Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton and an important step towards a healthier and cleaner environment – emphasized Šabani.
All activities will be implemented in accordance with the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and the Environmental and Social Standards of the World Bank (ESS), and an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) will be drawn up, which will be an integral part of contractual obligations with selected suppliers.
Applications must be submitted within 30 days from the date of publication of the Public Call, in the manner and under the conditions specified in the call itself. Applications submitted after the deadline or in an improper manner will not be considered.
