In the last game of the Sunday program of the 37th round of the English football championship, Newcastle United defeated West Ham United 3-1 as the host and practically sent it to the second league.
Woltemade (15) and twice Osula (19, 65) led the “magpies” to 3-0, only for Casellanos (69) to mitigate the defeat of the “hammer players”.
With these three points, Newcastle joined the company of Chelsea, Everton and Fulham, those teams are from 10th to 13th places with 49 points each, while West Ham remained in the relegation zone18th with 36 points, two less than 17th Tottenham.
West Ham could be relegated as early as Tuesday if Tottenham defeats Chelsea, but his chances of salvation are small anyway because even if he “survives” Tuesday, in the last round in a week, in addition to his victory against Leeds United, he also needs Tottenham’s defeat against Everton.
They’re already out Burnley and Wolverhampton.
Arsenal is at the top with 79 points, second Manchester City has two less.
