Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the country’s top decision-making body under the supreme leader, announced it would retake control of the Strait of Hormuz “until the final end of the war,” Iranian media reported.
The semi-official Tasnim agency states that the Council said that as long as the US naval blockade of Iranian ports continues, Tehran will “consider it a violation of the ceasefire and prevent the conditional and limited reopening of the Strait of Hormuz”.
The statement added that Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir, who had just finished a three-day visit to Iran, conveyed new proposals from the United States that Tehran was “considering and has not yet responded to.”
