The EU is still ready to negotiate with the U.S. administration on comprehensive import duties that the president of Donald Tramp announced last week, the president of the European Commission Ursula von Der Leyen said.
She added that Brussels was also ready to take countermeasures.
Von Der Leyen said that the Norway was part of the unique market market and will remain in it.
Norway is not a member of the EU although part of the unique block market and wants to avoid being caught in the trade war between the United States and the EU.
Trump announced that the importation from the EU countries is introduced by the Customs rate of 20 percent.
